They spent a night and the rest was history

Jellal , with nothing to loose , offered to play a game of poker for it . The old  man won but sold the tavern to Jellal anyway in thanks for for all the years entertainment and company  and patronage. Jellal later learnt that the the old owner was part of a underground organization that had targeted the pub.

Those who came were shady folk that stayed long hours , but they paid well and enjoyed Jellals performances during his breaks. sloly but surely jellal turned the tavern into a place of entertainment , including card game tables , pool and chess.

With many members using the tavern as a safe place to  exchange gossip and to relax out of the prying eyes of justice. Jellal was approached by the group  several times . Their final request for his participation in making his place an official safe house of blacklist was when they brought documents that included information of his children. He agreed to comply and was taught a method of communication using the very cards that he loved playing so much .
