Having four older siblings, Karel was often overlooked, seen as the 'spare heir' to his family while his older siblings were more pampered by his parents and raised to take charge of the family. Karel was left to his own devices, as long as he did not disgrace the Northstar name. Karel spent his time learning the ways of magic both in a way to honour his ancestors and as a way to escape from his family's influence to carve his own path in life. To this end Karel joined M.M.A.P. and sought to carve his own legacy separate from them. ==== Thinking about your character's place ==== You are creating a character in a Pre-established world where major events have or will happen. There are guilds, nations, borders and all sorts of things that are established like any world. thinking about what guild or organization your character may be apart of. or where they live or did live. \\ There are many parts of the world map that have yet to be filled in. if you feel you have an idea for a brand new settlement, town etc for your character's backstory let your DM know and they will work with you to establish a foothold in this world that will be a part of the overarching lore. ===== History ===== Karel was born to the Northstar family, a minor noble house in Oxtrad one acclaimed for their ancestors actions in helping establish trade routes between Oxtrad and other nations, bringing vital supplies to the cold nation. However as the years have past (Might be decades, might be centuries depending on the timeline) the family's influence and importance has waned in a combination of other families making better business decisions and the Northstar's mismanging their affairs. At this point, they are a noble house purely on the efforts of their ancestors. Karel is the youngest son of five children, having two brothers and two sisters. The oldest two siblings take most of their parent's attention, being seen as the next heir for the family. With each subsequent child, they have been given less and less attention as they are seen as less important. Being neglected, Karel recognised the sinking ship that was has family and joined M.M.A.P. in order to make a new life for himself, separate from his family. Being recognised for both his administration and magical skills, Karel was nominated for the expedition to Uthasil, where he seeks to establish not only a name for himself but follow in the footsteps of his ancestors and create a thriving merchant association.
