Paladin's In Felwind
**A Worldly Respect** \\
Playing a Paladin In Felwind
Playing a Paladin in Felwind or any setting really is much more involved than other classes.
Much like the Cleric, A Paladin is Probably gonna have un-common contact with their deity. Through prayer, visions, dreams or however else the DM feels appropriate for the time and place and what these interactions are like can vary wildly depending on the campaign.
**a Focus or a Reason** \\
When creating a Paladin for a campaign its a good idea to work closely with the DM about your characters origin and their path forward. A Paladin in Felwind would most likely have a major cause to journey or work towards that lines parallel or intercepts with the main campaign’s path. \\ This might mean a Paladin’s story is more railroaded than other classes but try not to think of the path but the minor and major goals along the way. Its up to the player how they reach those goals.
It can be hard to justify actions for a Paladin that is trying to achive thier goals, The Beach episode for the rest of the party may be seen as wasted time
In a Paladin plying thier character, A suggestion would be to have a sign or a message from their higher power to suggest some relaxing time is needed for the tough road ahead.

Paladin Oath Sub-Classes
Acquisitions
//Source: MCDM Arcadia, Vol 5//
//Most paladins are chiefly concerned with doing good. A rare few pursue darker paths. But those who take the Oath of Acquisitions don’t fall into either camp. They have the power to help people…but why would they, if they aren’t going to be adequately compensated? They’re called heroes, demanded to throw themselves in harm’s way, but when it comes time for hazard pay? They’re told their service should be payment enough. But in a dragon-eat-dragon world, these heroes for hire need every tool at their disposal, be it sword or spell, to ensure that invoice gets paid on time. \\ These notorious charmers wield a strong portfolio of enchantment magic to move the needle on and off the battlefield. Be it a heated negotiation over the price of a potion or a pitched battle with a soon-to-be-overly-friendly giant, it’s hard to deny these silver-tongued devils when they turn on the charm. Perhaps you entered into an infernal contract forcing you to collect on debtors. Or that merchant you guarded a few years back made a lot of good points about knowing your worth. Maybe you just took the guidance from your god of traders a little too far. However you came to take this oath, you always aim to come out on top—and woe to those who break a contract with you.//
Paladins of this Oath will find their place in the Domains of __Zeal__ or __Trickery__. Following the Goddess religion:Waukeen

++ What to Expect |
The theme of a Paladin driven by the desire for wealth and treasure. their abilities lean into a player looking to take advantage of their status, manipulating characters with words in negotiation, drawing Agro away from you party with your brilliance being the center of attention, dealing extra damage to creatures you have charmed and being overall putting the stink in stinking rich.

Ancients
//Source: Player's Handbook//
//The Oath of the Ancients is as old as the race of elves and the rituals of the druids. Sometimes called fey knights, green knights, or horned knights, paladins who swear this oath cast their lot with the side of the light in the cosmic struggle against darkness because they love the beautiful and life-giving things of the world, not necessarily because they believe in principles of honor, courage, and justice. They adorn their armor and clothing with images of growing things-leaves, antlers, or flowers-to reflect their commitment to preserving life and light in the world.//
Paladins of this oath may find they fall within an Arch-Fey's power of planes:Arcadia or the planes:Feywild rather than a domain of the pantheon. Though if they do they may find their place in the nature domain as one of Wild Mother's knights.

Beauty
//Source: Dragon's Stew, Pg 40//
//The Oath of Beauty is a solemn promise to protect beauty at all costs. The beauty a Paladin chooses to protect can be any beauty: the beauty of nature, the beauty of a loved one, the beauty that nobody else considers beautiful, or their own beauty, to name a few. Paladins of Beauty aim to protect what they find beautiful from the ugly, graceless forces of the angel of Beauty: outside world. Those that swear this oath become staunch, deeply passionate defenders of what they call their Muses, that or those which they admire most. Contrary to many other oaths, the Oath of Beauty encourages those that swear by it to throw themselves into the arms of their passions, to feel every feeling unashamedly and courageously. Objectivity and cold hard logic hold little to no meaning to a Paladin of Beauty. It is subjectivity, passion, admiration, and love that drives them. A Paladin of Beauty’s most powerful weapon is not their sword, but their rejection of society’s insistence on remaining unemotional and impersonal, because when wielded dexterously, it can inspire a crowd, a city, a country, or the entire world.//
Paladins of this oath may find their place among the domains of __Pleasure__, __Zeal__ or __Love__

++ What to Expect |
A Really cool flavor for more of a self absorbed Paladin however some of the features are rather bafflingly bad in my opinion, luckily they are easy enough to alter. \\ Though it may look selfish on the surface the class is rather selfless with big team support vibes granting protection, buffs to saving throws, see illusions easier, AOE stuns and more. as with most Paladins the mileage of this subclass will vary widely dependent on the player.

Conquest
//Source: Xanathar's Guide to Everything//
//The Oath of Conquest calls to paladins who seek glory in battle and the subjugation of their enemies. It isn’t enough for these paladins to establish order. They must crush the forces of chaos. Sometimes called knight tyrants or iron mongers, those who swear this oath gather into grim orders that serve gods or philosophies of war and well-ordered might. \\ Stories were told of how some Paladins following the Oaths of Conquest would consort with the Devils of the Hells. However today people know better and such Paladins that consort with the Hells are not Paladins at all but known as culture:Illrigger, or Hell-Knights.//

Coven
//Source: Hexbound, Pg 27//
//Paladins who swear to follow the Oath of the Coven are there to protect witches even from other witches. Despite the wide diversity of covens’ values and teachings, nearly all of them include at least one Oath of the Coven Paladin. They are there to keep the peace and to protect other witches from outside threats, but also to ensure that their own companions do not go mad with power. \\ Many are sent after witches who have broken the law, killed their masters, or otherwise endangered the well-being of other witches. Once an Oath of the Coven Paladin is on the hunt, very little can stop them. \\ These paladin witches use their witchcraft to stop spellcasters in their tracks. They are uniquely suited to counter and take down those who use magic to harm or manipulate others, and their abilities centre around interrupting or resisting spells. Many witches are thankful for their presence, while many others resent them and see them as an unnecessary precaution stifling their pursuits in spellcasting, but witches have learned that a steady hand holding an unwavering sword can be the only thing stopping a coven from crumbling under its own weight.//
Paladins of this oath may find their place I the Domain of __Arcana__ however these Paladins are special as they are normally brought o protect a powerful being such as a Patron.

//Source: Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide//
//The Oath of the Crown is sworn to the ideals of civilization, be it the spirit of a nation, fealty to a sovereign, or service to a deity of law and rulership. The paladins who swear this oath dedicate themselves to serving society and, in particular, the just laws that hold society together. \\ These paladins are the watchful guardians on the walls, standing against the chaotic tides of barbarism that threaten to tear down all that civilization has built, and are commonly known as guardians, exemplars, or sentinels. Often, paladins who swear this oath are members of an order of knighthood in service to a nation or a sovereign, and undergo their oath as part of their admission to the order's ranks.//

Devotion
//Source: Player's Handbook//
//The Oath of Devotion binds a paladin to the loftiest ideals of justice, virtue, and order. Sometimes called cavaliers, white knights, or holy warriors, these paladins meet the ideal of the knight in shining armour, acting with honour in pursuit of justice and the greater good. They hold themselves to the highest standards of conduct, and some, for better or worse, hold the rest of the world to the same standards. Many who swear this oath are devoted to gods of law and good and use their gods' tenets as the measure of their devotion. They hold angels – the perfect servants of good – as their ideals, and incorporate images of angelic wings into their helmets or coats of arms.//

Redemption
//Source: Xanathar's Guide to Everything//
//The Oath of Redemption sets a paladin on a difficult path, one that requires a holy warrior to use violence only as a last resort. Paladins who dedicate themselves to this oath believe that any person can be redeemed and that the path of benevolence and justice is one that anyone can walk. These paladins face evil creatures in the hope of turning them to the light, and the paladins slay them only when such a deed will clearly save other lives. Paladins who follow this path are known as redeemers. \\
While redeemers are idealists, they are no fools. Redeemers know that undead, demons, devils, and other supernatural threats can be inherently evil. Against such foes, the paladins bring the full wrath of their weapons and spells to bear. Yet the redeemers still pray that, one day, even creatures of wickedness will invite their own redemption.//

//Paladins are rare among the Valikan, but those that don the heavy armor of an inspired warrior draw from the tales of the Undying Flame. This mythic hero rallied his community in the darkest winter Grarjord ever saw and tended a flame that lasted an entire winter. Paladins that embody this saga are bolstered when fighting back-to-back, and their very presence goads their allies to superhuman feats. The fire they wield acts as a vital tool for survival in the chill north, but these warriors do not hesitate to turn it into a weapon in the name of justice..//

Watchers
//Source: Tasha's Cauldron of Everything//
//The Oath of the Watchers binds paladins to protect mortal realms from the predations of extraplanar creatures, many of which can lay waste to mortal soldiers. Thus, the Watchers hone their minds, spirits, and bodies to be the ultimate weapons against such threats. \\
Paladins who follow the Watchers' oath are ever vigilant in spotting the influence of extraplanar forces, often establishing a network of spies and informants to gather information on suspected cults. To a Watcher, keeping a healthy suspicion and awareness about one's surroundings is as natural as wearing armor in battle.//
