The shield is weightless and ethereal to the attuned wielder. the wielder easily able to use a two handed weapon or ranged weapons that require and offhand for ammo, or two separate weapons. \\ When ever a creature comes to attack, the shield acts and behaves like any other well crafted shield, a solid wall protecting you.
