- | The hum of the high speed train roused Robert up from his fragile slumber. As he slowly came too he say the artificial light from the deep tunnels was gone and the only light was the colourful glow of the various other passengers and the city he was aiming for. \\ Sitting up to stretch his artificial arm, flexing his fingers still not completely used to the sight of his mistakes. Looking around it seemed many people were just like him, missing parts to be replaced by enhancements,
- | |||
- | After making sure nothing was missing Robert picked himself up from the hard train seats to flex his aching limbs, enhancements were fruitless and painless if you had the money for it and the drugs to suppress the adjustment pain, Robert was not such in that position. His movment caught they eye of some other passengers but not much else. Cigarette smoke hung in the air and the glow of Recter city could be seen out the windows. It was huge, unbelievably so, colourful with the advertisements and billboards of corporations fighting for a sale and Robert knew this was only the tip of the iceberg, the city dug far lower then the surface and the towers stretched high above the clouds. \\ Robert went to the window to get a better look, almost in awe seeing the city for the first time. Flying vehicles littered the skies owned only by the luckiest members of society.

- | Robert returned to his seat and shuffled through his bag to find his holoplate. A device that anyone and everyone owned unless you were how the corporations say. // Unreliable//
- | It didn’t take an Android to figure out this was probably the 10,000th email that had been sent out on that day alone, Robert saw the bait and took it. Sure enough a not so sketch mechanic was down the next day to replace his lost arm, leg and eye as well as add some extra things. When Robert asked all he got was “Company policy kid, bit late to turn down now.”
- | |||
- | He unplugged himself and put his equipment away looking down at his arm. It was nice enhancement gear. Nothing top of the line but it didn’t have any crude bits hanging off it like bolts or loose wires so no way to snag on clothes. He remembers getting some lady attention at his local bar first time walking in with the upgrade. Robert couldn’t help but think this was a positive fresh start but something tugging at his mind making sure not to get his hopes up.

- | The City was getting close now, only a few more minutes. Robert patted himself down making sure he had everything before grabbing his bad and pulling it close. A small amount of excitement mixed with fear started to well up, He took this job because without it, it would surely have meant death. He saw the other passengers doing like him and getting ready. The train wasn’t full but far from empty. Room enough to sleep at least. \\ the dark night sky like a blanket with no stars out tonight. Probably from all the light pollution given off by the city. Robert started to see buildings fly by the windows before they dived back into another tunnel and heading down lower. The darkness stepped over the train making Robert eye out one of the smoking passengers, the top of his head had been completely replace, only from his nose down was he still himself. He seemed to smile at whatever he was thinking about. \\ the train started slowing down as the rattle announcement over the speaker sounded. |
