Stepping past the massive stone walls things almost seem as normal as they are above ground. Markets, Shops, taverns and other services are plenty around, the main differences are the lighting is artificial and the main demographic are the //Drow// people. If you had seen the city around and before the //Year 8500~// the things would have looked a lot different. The //Drow// people and culture has come far in the few thousand years since the //War// and only recently in the last millennium have things really began to turn for the better. What is the town like? happy Sad, is it specialised in a certain craft? is it filled with a particular species? === Government & Leadership === Ridorana like the other //Drow// cities is ruled by a pair of Lady //Drider// who are called 'Empress', specifically single. as though there are two (2) they are considered one (1) for neither has any more power than the other. \\ The 'Empress' acts as [[religion:Lolth]]'s presence, Their word is the word of the //Spider Queen//. \\ Despite this, there are very little in the way of 'Laws' for //Drow// aside from speaking out against //Lolth's// words very little is policed in a conventional way, Many Drow will seek out justice on their own terms. On rare occasions disagreements are brought before the 'Empress' which is their main presence in the culture of Ridorana, To be the final word of a disagreement and to be the voice outside the city walls to other cultures and people. The 'Empress' never leaves the city walls. to do so without good reason is seen as an insult to the //Spider Queen// herself. That is why many outsiders come to the city to discuss anything that would need a leadership role to weigh in on. In the past leaders where chosen via tests of strength and skill, Normally fights to the death would determine the leader. However as the //Drow// Population increased and their society evolved new methods had to be decided upon. Until //The Spider Queen// [[religion:Lolth]] put forth her commandment. \\ //"there shall not be one (1) leader but two (2) that will oversee my children, As the Age presses on things are changing and I foresee my children will not survive unless they adapt and accept other ideals. Though Every one of my children is equal in their right to live from birth i choose two who may teach my lessons, speak my words and represent my children to outsiders."// Who is running this town? Nobles, elects, military and how do they run this town? is their a higher power they refer too? === Defence & Crime === //Drow// have always been strong warriors, despite their culture and society moving away from the raids and slavers they still hold up strong traditions of combat and hunting. \\ There is no strict 'Guard' presence in Ridorana, in the sense there are no Drow employed by the city to keep its citizens in order but many //Drow// do act as the city's protectors on their own terms. Some out of a sense of pride for their home, others for the fame and honours that come from being one to uphold the cities' peace. others for the thrill of a fight. \\ Many //Drow// are capable warriors, Outsiders causing trouble are sure to be delt with efficiently. There are also the threat of the //Underdark// itself. Full of monstrosities unlike anything above. Creatures far meaner and powerful than a goblin or wolf. Not to mention the very air of the //Underdark// is toxic to most visitors the deeper you go. \\ The City has massive towering stone walls that surround it on all sides as well as a few inner rings of defensive wall. Who or what is protecting this town? big walls? strong soldiers? a lone hero? === Geography === Is the town in a desert? in an ocean? are the buildsns made of stone? wood, crystal, trees ==== Locations of Note ==== Is the town big enough to have districs? if so what are they **[[location:dregdew_pharmacy|Dregdew Pharmacy]]** \\ a Pharmacy located just outside the city walls of Ridorana. run by a female Drider named [[character:Vaylith]] ==== Shops & Organizations ==== Shops, Features, Guilds, NPC homes, Player homes ETC The town square, an old tomb, vast vineyards, pristine beach, etc. === Tavern === Almost guaranteed in every settlement no mater its size.
