Return to Cultures - Return to Species
Elves are some of the oldest known humanoid species in Felwind's history. Known as Tel-Quessir in the elven language this species of magic attuned people have as much variety in their biology as colours of the rainbow.
Like Humans, Elves biology is very malleable and flexible tough rather than the spawn adapt to the parents. Elves adapt naturally (Or Un-Naturally) based on their environment.
Compared to Humans, Elves tend to be more slender athletic builds, Fairer skin and overall a higher tier of beauty compared to humans. Its easy to see why there are so many Half-Elves running around.
Due to their long lives, Elves tend to have swayed moral compasses. Looking at the long road ahead of them wondering what they want at the end rather than living day to day like most average living species.

Unique Felwind Lore If Any.
Your Typical standard Elven People. The stereotypical one people think of. Often sharing a complexions and hair colours with humans but their eyes tend to be brighter as if containing Arcane power.
Elves in Felwind tend to fall into a few common but varied categories. Some become teachers of the Arcane arts or scholars, in an effort to research and further Arcane knowledge for themselves or the greater populous. Most tend to be rather loyal to those they form bonds with at a young age.
Others take up a more active life as rangers, protectors or lawful mercenary groups for the oppressed or defenceless. quite a large number of elves live and protect the nation of Greyhawk its people and its forests.
Its common that most elves in Felwind are rather xenophobic or just generally untrusting of adventurers. Most adventuring elves are treated rather badly due to their tendency to indirectly or directly harm those that are supposed to be comrades.
Not all elves are like this though…i hope.
Drow are the Elven people who have called the Underdark their home for tends of thousands of years. By far the most aggressive of all Elven people In Felwind and the reals around. They are ruthless hunters and slavers of overworld species. You often hear stories of Drow raids on settlements as they pillage supplies and people.
All Drow are tied to the Goddess Loth Also known as the Spider Queen.
The land of Mor-Thir was plagued by Drow raids during the years 9000~. The Northern lands of Oxtrad being the most to suffer. The hand was forced and Oxtrad invaded the Underdark, Committing to the death of over half the population of Drow at the time, They plundered thier capital and ransacked its artifacts, Leaving the Drow Queen dead and its capital in ruins. almost all known entrances to the Underdark were sealed in Mor-Thir after that invasion and Drow raids all by ceased.
Today Drow raids are aboust as common as a hurricane, Once or twice a year.
Most Drow are still looked at with caution but with the Outlawed Races in Mor-Thir, Over world Drow don't cop nearly as much abuse as they once would.
Wood Elves are well known for being a danger to anything that's not the forest, a dwelling creature or another elf. Anything else is often seen as a threat and is dealt with in kind. If not for Drow, Wood-elves would be seen as the most violet of Elven kind. At least this is true for outsider interactions. Within their tree bound villages, Wood-Elves are known to be very mild and kind. Singing and Dancing as if it was a fairy tale. The way that they can so quickly change their attitude is a marvel to other species.
There are many large villages of Wood-Elves around Felwind. Always found deep in thick forests or similar areas where nature has rained supreme.
There is a widely known unspoken war between wood elves and Drow. Wood-Elves tend to intercept Drow raids and spare none. Folklora are treated as royalty by the Wood-Elves, Though their interactions are low, Elven scripture and art depicts Folklora being very will respected.
Often found to be expert hunters & Archers they only really leave their villages to seek out revenge for a burned down forest, or the odd one who is curious of the outside world.
The High-Elves of Felwind are known to be more extream versions of their regular kin. More natural mastery over the Arcane, Longer lived and can either be even more loyal and noble or even more xenophobic and stuck up than their other kin. They are typically the tallest of elven kin and although not all high-elves share this trait, their fair features have been exaugurated so much their bodies and faces are far more elongated to the point of looking uncanny or alien in nature.
There is still a deep rooted tradition for Pure-Bread high elves. Many High-elves seen in Felwind are often of a long heritage of pure family. Its very rare to see a High-Elf that isn't in some sort of high ranking position in society, As advisors to royalty or scholars for nobles. Strong mages for Generals or even in some level of nobility themselves. With all that said a High-elf as an adventure or soldier is almost unheard of and will be looked down upon by other high-elves. But Desperation can cause even the most snobby people to pick up a blade.
Drider are a rare type of Drow. Normally as a punishment the Spider Queen Will curse an unfavourable Drow to become a Drider. Their lower half/legs are transformed into that of an arachnid such as a Spider or Scorpion. A very monstrous and painful transformation.
For male Drow, Becoming a Drider is all but total exile. Male Driders are shunned and shamed by other Drow, Even other Male Drider tend to not interact with each other, As all know to take the Queen's curse is to remain alone forever.
This leads to Male Drider being rather friendly to other species of the Underdark, and more notable, Travlers to the Underdark. A Male Drider in the Underdark while is normally in a sad state will often be overjoyed to meet creatures that are not out to hurt or harm. and will offer guidance if however temporary trough the upper levels of the Underdark
Female Drider on the other hand can go a entirely different direction. Like Male Drider's most Feale Driders are also doomed to a life of isolation from their people but rarely Female Driders become a being of worship.
