The domain of Arcana is responsible for control and order of the weave itself. All Spell-casters channelling the weave for their magic have the Arcana domain to thank.

When the Dragons first wrangled and created the weave of arcane energy there was no Domain. It was furious and primal meant for Draconic kind to wield alone.
When Mortals first began to harness this primal arcane weave there was no domain. It was dangerous and lethal yet more powerful than any mortal could dream of, why wouldn't they try to tap into it.
When the first gods rose to power there was no domain. Divine power was seperate from Arcane power, what right did they have to control something they had no domain over?

Yet when finally, Gods were struck down with the untamed power of mortal magic brining about the cataclysmic Spell-Plague then a domain was established.
Mystra and the creation of the Arcana Domain helped subside the spell-plage and mortal magic was restricted forever more to prevent the Spell-Plague from ever returning.

When the Arcana Domain was established the divine magic known as Divination became intertwined with the mortals schools of magic and so granted mortals access to a sliver of divine power through divination magic.

The Domain of Death is a grim but necessary one. A Domain that governs the right for the living to pass on without issue. For the protection of souls, For proper burial practices and dignified rest.

This domain came to be when the gods began to receive power from worship. The Devotion from mortals, the power of the Divine, unlike the Arcane Weave this power is still mostly unknown.
When prayers are sent from the mortals, great acts of heroism in a Gods name, a sacrifice or offering they come through the Domian of Devotion. Overseen by the Hyhm Singers. Ancient Celestials that sing the devotion and prayers of the worshipers to the gods, they are also the avatars that are sometimes summoned by powerful Clerics and Paladins.

The Domain of Dogma, possibly the final say among the Pantheon, when disagreements surface in the Pantheon, the Dogma Domain is looked to for correction, When misdeeds or hearsay rears its ugly head, the Gods of Dogma are expected to crush it. and if Celestia is ever to go to war it will be the Gods of the Dogma Domain who sound the horn.
The Domain oversees the might of the Gods, to keep the devotion of mortals in check and to punish heresy to the Gods. It is their domain of truth that the Gods power is truth, and their mercy and fury can be equally dispensed.

Dreams are a mysterious and wholly unknown medium. Yet most beings with a conscious will have them. Dreams come with sleep, a peaceful rest or a frightening omen.
The Domain is responsible for the Dreamscape, for the sanctity of a beings peaceful rest and that the Dreams are not misused. The Domain also acts as a messenger of sorts, Many Gods will use dreams to contact their faithful. In a way the Domain of Dreams is a great equal ground for all beings.
The Domain’s reach extends into various other forms of the realms. The Ethereal plane is one example. Gods of this Domain are aloof, peaceful and very cryptic, even to other gods the Domain of Dreams and the ones who sit there are strange and not fully understood. Dive too deep and you may never wake up.

Are the Gods controlled by Fate? The Domain of Fate's very existence means yes and its this reason that most Gods fear the Domain of Fate. This domain although holding a position in the Pantheon the thrones have remained empty in Celestia for many generations. Gods that come to fill the Thrones are offten for one reason or another expunged from Celestia. Many have had disagreements with the panthreon believing their are above fate. but none are above fate. Other gods refuse to follow the laws of the pantheon and so have become Patrons instead. filling the throne in name only so that the thrones cannot be filled.

This Domain is currently filled by Lady Greyhawk who is missing, and the Librarian of Fate who is not recognized as a New God but rather a Patron due to her disagreement with the Pantheon. But such is the way with the Domain of Fate.

To create is to inact your will upon the physical world. The Forge domain is probably the oldest Domain in the Pantheon for its origin was before the New Gods rose to power. The Domain came to be when the Joutunbrud and Dragons first enacted their will upon the realms. Back when the cosmology was still young, When Joutun and Dragons were friends.
Joutun would take the elemenatl realms and mix them together like pouring hot metal to a forge. Dragons took the raw energy of the astral sea and manipulated it into a primal form of the Arcane weave we know today.
The Dragons forged the Stars, Suns and Moons, While the Joutun forged the water, air and earth. together these two people forged the mortal realms, a canvas for higher powers to paint.
The Dragons would spread their primal magic within the earth the Joutun forged. While the Joutun would bring physical form to the magic the Dragons had harnessed. Here is were the Domain of the Forge was born.

The Domain of the Grave governs the crucial part of what happens after death? The Grave domain is responsible of seeing souls safety to the afterlife, making sure they are not tainted, corrupted or stolen. and most importantly a determined fighter against Un-death, Souls called back against their will, souls refusing to pace on.

The Nature of this Domain means its throne is not among the Pantheon in Celestia But rather resides in the realm of Purgatory known as Equilibrius. Despite this it still holds much power within the pantheon and the Gods voices are still herd within the court. However some among the pantheon would disagree with this.

One Domain to hold many seats. Among the Domains its the Domain of Knowledge which is most shared. For its arguable that all New Gods possess some form of higher Knowledge and so all New Gods hold a claim to its domain. Gods are free to reveal what they see fit to the mortals and to each other.
Though this Domain holds many seats only a few can truly claim a throne in this Domain.

Those New Gods at the highest of this Domain are true Knowledge barres, Knowing secrets long forgotten, knowing what has been even before the Pantheon came to be. and even to know what may come.
To Be a God of the Knowledge Domain is to be Neutral, For the knowledge a God knows may not be wise to pass onto other gods or mortals, about the true nature of things, about events yet to come. Though The Gods of Knowledge know much they know one thing above all else. to temper their tongue, To seal their lips, for to speak plainly about things is to upset the delicate balance the world understands.

Though all the Domains hold importance among the Pantheon, none more than the Domain of Life. It holds little power to the other Domains but its importance cannot be rivalled.
Forge is the domain of raw creation, to build and craft. But to birth soul, to nurture life, thoughts, ideals and a future, That is what it means to create life. a power so important and so defining that part of this domain lives among all living things, a power so important that for many beings it cannot be wielded by one alone.
The Domain of Life demands its thrones be filled with those willing to create it themselves, a pair of New Gods. Never a single one.

The Domain of life governs the creation of new life, Seeds from trees to sprout into new forests, Mothers carrying their future children, fathers to protect and care for them in this vulnerable time. Though the circumstances may not always be as black and white as this, the raw idea of it is. The Domain of Life gives all it has to the other Domains, for once a seed sprouts, a bird hatches or a child is born the Domain of Life willingly gives up their full control to allow the rest of the world to now influence them however it sees fit. But the Life Domain will always be apart of every living thing in some small way, giving them small guidance and hopefully, the chance to create new life once again.

A Domain Stolen
For it was not the New gods who created the stars among the Astral sea, but the first among the Dragons, While the Giants forged the dirt, stone and water, Dragons forged the fire, sky, the stars and the primal weave.
But when mortals prayed, their prayers did not go to the Ancient Dragons, But the New gods who had stolen this Domain in their name.
Light created by magic is often tied to this domain, Light without heat or energy, a mere poor replica to its original source. But a Cleric calling upon Dancing Lights is calling upon the Domain of Light, not the raw primal energy of the stars.

The Domain of light is rather a symbol for the mortals, For Light scares away the darkness and many mortals seek the light like a moth. Some refer to this light as Hope. Which is a better understanding of this domain. For it doesn't not govern the basic idea of 'Light' but rather what it represents now to both gods and mortals. a Since of Hope amongst the darkest of times.

A Domain Stolen, A Domain misunderstood what ever its nature has been lost to time, Only the Solar and Luna Dragons remember this transgression and they have not been reliably recorded for Decamillennium, Until very recently.

Love is a Complicated thing to explain, For those who don't understand it may never will without experiencing it themselves. The Domain of love is a powerful one indeed, Possibly the strongest among the Pantheon. Kingdoms have fallen over love, nations gone to war, realms split over the love of something. Love is not simply between two mortals but something far grander.
Despite all living things having life, only a fraction can experience love and some fewer understand it. while the domain of love encompasses all types love itself can be experienced differently. some may misunderstand and see something as love when its not. Using the word “love” to describe something mortals enjoy is also rather common but not within this domain.

Love for this domain is a raw feeling between two or more mortals. an invisible bind that is equally the strongest and most fragile bind mortals can make. It can stand up to the scrutiny of a thousand nations, it can exist despite walls, laws or pressure, it can awaken power within that mortals didn't know they had and it can fuel the fire of life.
Yet when love is formed, truly, it also becomes your biggest weakness. Choices may become impossible. a stray action or word can shatter the bond of love. For when you love you expose all you are and the one you love shares that same vulnerability.

This Domain dose not govern love, it merely represents it. The New Gods who claim its thrones do not gain its power, they merely act as guides to mortals who may be looking for answers. And even if this Domain would fall, Love would still live on.

Water Grows Rotten if left stagnant, change is needed for life to florish. The Domain of Tempest is one of fear, Hardship and change. A Domain for Gods that are the necessary evil to mortals. the negitive so that the rest of the Pantheon can be seen as the positive. A force of power that brings about change both naturally and mentally.
It is a display of power of the Pantheon to temper mortals. it is an upset to the normal so that mortals do not stagnate, and it is a weapon to use against the Pantheon's foes.
Though the Gods in the Tempest domain hold great power this domain is in constant sway. other forces and higher powers constantly try to pull this domain out of the Pantheon but that has yet to happen.

When the first horn was sounded, the Domain of War heard.
The Domain of War dose not oversee the individual act of war but rather the essence of conflict. for without conflict there cannot be peace, without loss their cannot be gain.
The Domain of war is a means to other domains. There cannot be change if there is nothing to change for. Hero's and leaders do not rise up during peace times.

The Domain of war serves another purpose. for if the Pantheon were ever to intact War, it would be this Domain that provides the soldiers, the weapons, the generals to head that Divine war. The armies of Celestia are under the command of the Gods that claim the thrones in the War Domain.
