Dazzan Ragthrokaar

Dazzan Ragthrokaar was a red dragonborn born into poverty in Oxtrad before the Ashlem War. He spent his young life training to become strong enough to support himself as a mercenary. After years as a successful sellsword, Dazzan met his wife and joined the Oxtrad military, trading his life of freedom and adventure for a consistent paycheck and stable job to support their future. Using his years of experience, Dazzan rose through the ranks of the military to captain, proving his strength and earning the respect of his comrades. As the Ashlem War broke out, Dazzan earned a reputation amoung the public for his effective victories against Covania and slowly became a symbol of Oxtrad's military might. After the Demonic Invasion however, everything changed for Dazzan.

As the Invasion progressed, Dazzan was promoted to General and was able to hold back part of the tide and limit casualties, but could not fully turn the tide. In the later years of the invasion, a demon (Maybe you have someone in mind) took note of his military prowess and offered him power in exchange for his betrayal of Oxtras. Dazzan had reached the conclusion that he was fighting a losing battle and was desperate to find a way out for his wife and newborn son. He changed the deal, his betrayal in exchange for the safety of his wife and son, and turned against Oxtrad once the deal was made. The betrayal was a huge blow to morale for Oxtrad.

The public believed that Dazzan had turned against them in the pursuit of power, and the Ragthrokaar clan name was branded as traitors forcing Dazzan's wife and son had to go into hiding. Dazzan directed the demons in their effort against Oxtrad, but was slain in the final years of the war. (I was thinking it could have been Zyllis who killed him as one of his missions.) After the war ended, the Ragthrokaar name was removed for the history books around Felwind and there is very little information available, none of which is from official sources.
