Gods, Deities, Patrons


In the world of Felwind it is simply foolish to not believe of the higher powers that govern the Domains of the Pantheon. Gods are real in this land and there is no doubt of their influence over the world and people. God-Hood is a power obtainable by some mortals if they are lucky, worthy or desperate enough to obtained it. However while most wish for the power of a God most lack the drive and determination to obtain it. Not to mention the current gods are less likely to make room within their domains and would rather eliminate any potential newcomers as a display of their power.

While there is no doubt of Gods, Mortals can doubt the Gods. Worship of Gods comes down to a choice. some do it out of fear, love, honour or tradition. But others abstain not showing any worship nor offence, and some even are bold enough to curse the Gods and Dam their names.

New Gods

The most common form of Divien being that is well known in all of Felwind and the surrounding realms. New Gods hold power over a particular domain or two and its not uncommon for a Domain to be shared between two or even three new gods.
The new Gods make up the Celestial court although that is just a name, the New Gods are not very organized with smaller groups of alliances more common.

Though many of the domains and so the New Gods that govern them conflict with each other its all in the name of balance. while occasional disputes or fights may break out all the New gods know that they are all to be in balance and so to usurped another New God or even attempt to remove them all together is high celestial treason and higher powers than the New Gods act as a deterrent from that happening.
However though the New Gods may not have to worry about other New Gods, Rules have been broken before and there are still many threats around.

Patrons

Beings of high power close to or even rivaling that of the New Gods, the main difference is Almost all Patrons have no Domain they govern over. Rather they govern over places, object or ideas and of course the mortals they rope into their service one way or another.

Old Gods
As Rain falls, Wind blows, Sun sets, The Old Gods Are. Concepts given physical form. The Old ones are existence. Very few know about them and fewer still can comprehend their power.

New Gods
The new Gods, powerful peoples that have ascended to godhood through, enlightenment, strength, magic, or one of many other ways. Part of the Pantheon and fall into one of the Pantheon's Domains.

Patrons
Powerful beings, not quite gods but some can rival their power. Often make deals with others, sharing their power in return for loyalty.

Demigods
Children of gods, people of ambition or enlightenment, or gods of small regions or following.

Saints
Many of these were Gods from Orden,1) In Nightcall these are figures that were once mortal but have ascended, not to Gods but close to it
