Aasimar
Return to Cultures - Return to Species
Like many sapient species in Felwind, Aasimar are typically a result of Celestial and Mortal parents. The specifics don't need to be detailed however its worth noting that such relationships are often against the Pantheon's wishes.
Aasimar is otherwise the name for a Half-Blood Celestial.
The Aasimar lineage is strong and will be passed down for multiple generations without much upset. eventually fading out, though the initial beginnings of such a linage are rare and not entirely sanctioned. Many Religious Groups have conflicting views towards Aasimar people. Some see them as the children of gods to be protected and worshiped, a Sign of divinity and praise. Others see them as living proof of the Gods corruption and sin, a spite against mortals or even a messenger of doom.
Many born with Aasimar lineage are not fully awear of their true nature. For many the signs of Aasimar lineage are subtle, for otters its more apparent. While not every Aasimar have all these features common traits are Finer Features, Taller than average, Glowing eyes, Markings covering their flesh, Angelic wings (Physical or spectral), Innate magic abilities etc.
However, Not all Aasimar are conceived so simply.
Some Aasimar are honest celestials who have “Fallen”, becoming Aasimar Mortals. Weather having broken one of the Pantheon's many rules or just disrespecting one of its gods. These Aasimar are called Fallen
Some come down willingly or are sent down to the mortal realms specifically for a purpose, a symbol or wat ever the gods feel like. Tese Aasimar are called Seraph or Angel
Other Asimar were not originally born in Celestia but rather welcomed in as refugees long long ago. These large Animal-like people resembling creatures such as Lions, Jaguar, Tigers and other 'Noble' Beasts are called Leonin.
The last of the Aasimar People are the mortal souls of Heros. Those mortals who have committed the highest of noble, heroic or divine acts in their life. Passing on into Celestia they are chosen by the gods to return to the Mortal realms as beings called Einherjar.

(Supplement)
The most common form of Aasimar found in Felwind. A child with Celestial lineage or one from Celestia who has fallen from grace, stripped of a majority of their power and status.
Aasimar often appear as regular humanoids but with finer features and appearance. They often have a dark complexion with golden or glowing eyes and sometimes symbols upon their flesh. Other more obvious traits being Spectral or Physical Angelic wings and crowns of light.
Many of these Aasimar are not a wear of their true linage. Some are known from birth when being closely tied with religious groups or church but others remain unknown until the lineage manifests its power within the individual.
Even as only Half-Blood Celestials they still carry some scrap of divine power through magic and unique abilities. Many are able to further their power or reclaim what they have lost through various means.

(Setting)
People from a far off exitance that was destroyed, The first of the Leonin too arrive in Felwind were refugees along wit the Loxodon people. The New gods took pity on them and provided them shelter at the bottom of Celestia
Unlike the Loxodon who built thier culture around scholarship and enlightenment. Leonin are heroic in nature, looking for grand adventures and to become living legends, have stories and songs written about them. Create large families and enjoy life in general.
Hearty and bombastic. Most Leonin appears as large mammals such as wolves, Tigers, Bears, Panthas etc. Naturally physically strong its hard to find a Leonin that's not good looking.
Much like how Tieflings and Aasimar are on oppisite sides of the coin, Leonin have Gnolls. Unlike a majority of the Leonin wo were accepted into Celestia a small tribe of them shunned that gift and instead made their way to the Nine Hells where they thrived in thier own way and were taken in by the Arch-Devils. Gnolls resemble hyena's exclusively.
