Amalgamation

Return to Cultures - Return to Species

When Scholars are unable to directly pin down a species genius they are labled as 'Monstrocity'. However when that particular species is inteligent enough to be sentient then the classification is changed to Amalgamation.
Normally reserved for outer-Beings, Chimeras, Mutants and other such people.

Weather by a mad wizard's experiment or a unholy cross-breed child Amalgamations are all varied from eachother but can't all have their own classification.

BattleZoo Ancestries: Sphinx
(3rd Party)

The Origins of the Sphinx are unknown in Felwind. Some Scholars theories there is no one Origin, and each Sphinx is created or born under their own circumstances. Unlike a Chimera, Sphinx are created from nothing. A Chimera often starts off with a base creature that other things are added too, Created with Dark Arcane, But Sphinx have been observed at being more divine in nature. As if the New Gods had given their blessing to existence. However they came to be they are exceedingly rare. Only a handful are currently known of. They seemingly have immortal life which has been confirmed when interviewing one of them, learning they are from ages long past.
Sphinx are often a combination of human, bird, Fox, Goat and lion with varying ratios but creatures outside this list are yet to be observed. It has been theorized that only these specific creatures can be used as others would taint the sphinx's creation. One thing that even the commoners would know about Sphinx's are their love of puzzles and riddles. The original interview with a Sphinx was only possible by trading riddles with them for each question asked.

BattleZoo Ancestries, Ogres
(3rd Party)

Ogers in Felwind are the mutts of the wide variety of species. They are a bit of troll, a bit human, a bit dragon, a bit Joutun, a bit orc a bit….you get the idea. But unlike other Amalgamations, Ogres are mostly born naturally, not created from dark magic or mad experiments. Expectedly Ogres come in a massive variety of forms but all share similar traits. Usually large forms and isolated, and the fact that no two Ogres are exactly alike. Another unique trait shared by most Ogres is an iron-gut, the ability to devour and digest most anything, This is key to their wide variety of forms being Ogres take on traits based on their diets.
