(MCDM)

Level 6, Divination, Ritual, Gemstone

Casting Time: 1 Minute , Range: Self , Components: V (Vocal) - S (Somatic) - M (Material) , Duration: Until Dispelled
Special Material: two tiger eye gems, each worth at least 1,000 gp

Effect

  • You bury one of the gems you use as a material component for this spell in a patch of earth or stone large enough to hold it and keep the second gem with you. For as long as the first gem remains buried, you can cast the scrying spell on a location within 30 feet of the buried gem without expending a spell slot, using the second gem as the material component for the spell. Once you cast scrying in this way, you can’t do so again until 24 hours have passed.
  • While the second gem is on your person, you automatically sense when a magical scrying sensor is within 30 feet of you and always know when you’re targeted by divination magic. Additionally, whenever you’re targeted by the scrying spell, you have advantage on the saving throw against it. On a successful save you can use your reaction to mislead the spell, sending the scrying sensor to a random location within 30 feet of the buried gem. The spell ends if the first gem is moved from where it was buried or if dispel magic or a similar effect is successfully applied to either gem. In either case, the first gem crumbles to dust.
