First Job

The afternoon glow soaked the city of ….. The warm orange doing nothing to elevate the heat for locals and travellers alike. a traveling stock cart had just pulled into its destination, ending its 3 week journey from the north. three passengers disembarked and as the cart traveler headed to meet the stock manager a female Goliath and make dwarf begun unloading the crates.
No special cargo, food and wine, ores and wood. as normal as you could get.
“Where did you find this one?!” The stock manager seemed quite interested in the Goliath employee under the travellers watch, eyeing her over as a butcher does his cut of meat.
“I found her on the path from Oxtrad's borders, heading south towards …… she stopped me asking for ..coins ha, to buy a place to stay” he laughed “ Well its been a while since i had beggars so bold, instead i offered her a job. i could tell just by looking at her she was strong and capable, also not much of a talker so wouldn't cause any unessesary complications, Plus, You know Goliaths are rare this far from the mountains and i was down two men, it was the smart decision”

Raishin continued unloading the carts as if she couldn't hear the humans talking about her, Her eyes were on the task but her ears were trained on their convocation.

It had been a few weeks since Raishin finished her training and set off to Reton, not knowing much about the entique of the world when she was offered a job she felt like this was a great opportunity. At first the traveler was a bit belittling and rude to her but after making her presence known they have had a much more equal understanding of each other.
she didn't talk much but she did listen closely, the one other worker was a lone dwarf who was good friedns with the traveler, apparent a favour had been asked and thats why he was on this trip.

The warm climate of Corvania was less than comfortable to most, but Raishin didn't seem to be bothered by it.
the sun was setting to this day, last task of the day before supper then bed.
“Can the she-beast at least speak?” the Stores manage spoke up, Then quickly shut down by the traveler.
“Whoa whoa, i would ask you to mind your manors with my workers, They have been a major help and honestly without them your goods would have never made it.”
The Stores manager looked over Raishin and she met his gaze back with a glare, causing him to look away in fear as the thought of what such a powerful specimen could do to hit brittle old body.
“cough cough, well if thats the case i am grateful. may you join me inside so we can finish the paper work?” The manager and Traveler disappeared into the store leaving Raishin alone with the dwarf.

The two continued to unload almost in silence save a few grunts. Raishin didn't have to see the number of gazes catching her from behind, the feeling of judgmental eyes was something she had grown familiar with in her short time among society. she knew those eyes well, they were the same eyes her parents have her yonger sister long long ago. the thought quickly turned into a memory of the first time she caught them scoulding her younger sister, doing nothing wrong other than being, She put herself between her partents and her sister, staring them down.
“get out of the way” her parents yelled but muffled, slowly getting louder. “get out of the way!, Raishin, Get out of the Way!!, GET OUT OF THE WAY”
Suddenly snapped back to reality the dwarf was shouting her to move, the flashback had haulted her progress on unloading and it was holding the dwarf up.
“Ah jeeze, singe my beard, RAISHIN! Would ya move for miners sake?!” She quickly shiffled out of his way as he lugged the last of the cargo past.

Raishin had agreed to payment of meals and accomodation for the work she did, it was more than the Traveler had bargained for due to the amount Raishin ate but for the service she supplied it became worth the extra coin spent on meals.

they were attacked by bandits in the first few days of travel, Raishin single handed protected the cart and scared off the attackers, the horse was injured and had to be put down Raishin was there to pull the two carts of supplies herself. least to say her physical prowess was astounding.
It sounded like the legendary stories of the great hunter Gaston.

After the carts were unloaded Jerrzald the Dwarf took the horses and carts to the stables
“i'll meet you at the tavern to drink out pay away alrit?”
Rasihin nodded “aye i'll see you shortly”

The tavern, normally a place she would steer clear of but it was the source of food for tonight, fitting throug the door was the first test, ducking and shuffling in sideways as if it was an gymnastic test, eyes instantly drawn to her as the chatter fell quiet.
Rasihin folder her arms in a display of her massive arms “What?!”
The single word was all that was needed as every gaze fell from her and the chatter resumed.

Rasihin made her way over to the table where her boss was, busy drinking away what seemed to be the second mug of the night.
