19 - Owyn's gift & favour
Owyn
Tent favour
Eless has agreed to help, Owyn has covered the costs but needs a favour. A portal has opened outside the west wall this morning and a farmer is reported missing, go in, check if the farmer is there and bring him back, if it's dangerous or can't find him, return and use this Dispel Magic scroll to close the portal. Some of the students practice outside of the academy and run when they can't figure out how to revert, I suspect this is one such case.
Entering the portal you find yourselves among large and vibrant trees, about 20ft away you see the grass and roots slowly eating a body of a man, even at a distance you can see a large piercing wound in the back. Peering through purple leaved vines you can see a metal and stone pillar or device that stands out from the twisting and overgrown enviroment. Reaching the device it has two spikes, one point to the portal they entered from, the other pointed into dense corn like vines. You hear the voice of Dance “How are you lot involved? Here to ruin my plans again?” A pool of sand grows from the surrounds and Dance appears before you. They're here working for la Cour Florale, investigating rifts in the Feywild. They're unwilling to give up information as it's confidential court information and even if they could, Dance doesn't trust the group. Dance eventually tires of the group and starts turning the pillar to sand.
(Dance suspects the Nine Hells are using the Feywild to reach Felwind. Dance has also fled Cros-Glas, returning to the Feywild but no set home in Felwind)
As the device is almost destroyed the second spike sends of a red beam into the vines, the crunching of stone and a burning hiss sound from within. Dance stops. The observant among you notice a red glow growing the ground shaking slightly as a large stone being emerges, a flat surface on its chest bears the sigil. It stares down Dance and whoever is closest to them, the being raises its shield and slams the end into the ground. It says “Fools” in infernal and a cloud of red lightning appears above the device. Roll inititive
Returning from the portal it remains open until scroll is used to close it. Looking toward the city you see a pillar of black smoke, and the observant among you notice a red impish figure flying to where the portal was and slows to a stop 150ft away as it see you and a lack of portal. It will try flee back into the city to hide. AC 13 - HP 20. 120ft Firebolt +5 (1d8 Fire). Imp has with help of other set the marked house on hire. A woman has died and Timmic has been taken to the temple to heal.
Dragon hunt
Owyn comes to the group, “I have news of the dragon, before you get your hopes up they run this divination ritual once a month for the last 4-5 years. So far it's just confirmed that the dragon is still in the city and on the rare occassion in Ferrabreeze or Gued Qeston. This time they've convinced Master Movrag to run the ritual, you've shown interest in finding this dragon and Movrag has approved your attendance against the Temple's wishes”
Ritual is in two hours at the Temple of Tyr. Outside the temple is “Closed for a private function” a paladin stands guard but providing names allows the group to enter, inside you see find the temple eeriely empty, toward the alter you can see Owyn and Movrag, there are also 4 clerics/priests, and 3 others dressed in noble clothing. One of the clerics looks unhappy as you enter and immediately looks toward Movrag and shakes his head
- Nikolas (M Human, Paladin Commander)
- Dares (F Aarcokra, High Priestess)
- Winona (F Human, High Priestess)
- Roger (M Half-Elf, Previous Diviner)
- Bancroft (M Human, Dragon Historian)
- Leccindon (F Silver Dragonborn, Historian's Scribe)
- “V.K.” Vincent Kirsh (M Gnome, Gold Alliance CIO)
Movrag isn't what most think of when mages and wizards are talked about, while not as buff as other half-orcs, she is still a large figure, the first 2 minutes she lays out various herbs and lights them about 10 minutes into the ritual the light seems to draw into the circle, the dark corners of the temple grow in size, outside noise of children playing and people talking fades, the world seems still until Movrag stands and opens her now completely white eyes.
Beneath Sunwood's facade, a secret dwells,
The Unseen Lady, her rage slowly swells.
Her lair destroyed, the city's unwitting sin,
Sixty years since, remaining hidden within.
The dragon's presence, a mystery unknown,
Amongst the temple's occupants, her seeds are sown.
In plain sight, she observes, concealing her fire,
For those she's encountered, soften her ire.
Movrag's eyes return as she slumps over, you see two guards by the main door who have been relaxed so far go on alert. The clerics and nobles looks at each other and all of you nervously as Owyn goes to help Movrag. The historian Bancroft starts going off at Roger who conducted previous rituals, claiming he had been hiding this information for years, the paladin steps between them, Roger using the moment to point toward Blackfyre, questioning why you're here, adding too many variables. V.K butts in pointing toward Leccindon the dragonborn scribe at first then to Takitar, dragons know dragons. Leccindon bites back claiming he's racist and only reason he's here is because Gold Alliance funds the research. Room divides into two groups, holy folk and VK on one side, Bancroft and Leccindon on the other with Owyn and Movrag moving towards them.
Owyn and Movrag focus on the positive, the dragon is a she and that she while angered isn't attacking, concerned about “Seeds being sown amongst the temple's occupants” Someone or multiple unknowingly know the Unseen Lady or if hatered is still there she could be manipulating them. Narrowing search to just those within the temple and who each one knows.
Bancroft recalls, around 60 years ago there was large amounts of forest clearing as population spilled out into the sprawl. Lairs can difer greatly, some settle in natural locales such as caves and mountains, others claim old castles and ruins, others like the Silver draon that fled some 180 years ago lived on a large estate shapeshifting to appear humanoid but cannot stay that way for long periods, but reports say they have a preffered form, taking on a singular personality rather than multiple.
Boots
E.K. Hedington
CEO of the Gold Alliance, as an elf he's been in town for near 200 years. Took over the Gold Alliance from his parents who moved south and trail goes cold.
Hedington doesn't travel far from estate or work in Lambert, does however host guests at his estate once or twice a month. Very exclusive, only the rich, elite, and royal are invited. Being largest bank and merchant company in the city, he has a lot of unsavoury types eyeing and trying to grab what they can, as such his personal and company guard could rival the King's. Trying to collect floor plans for both but do you have a preference?

2 Remaining free informations
- Halflar - Was a client like another, paid gold for information, he and Vaughan worked together up until his disappearance 4-5 years ago. He was getting paranoid toward the end, I can try finding more but I'll be honest Vaughan is my best lead.
- Katrina - Ah yes I remember you now, Vaughan talked about the strange job, out of the five people only one, Halflar, knew why, it intrigued me. Since then I found Halflar did contract work for the Gold Alliance but they acted as a middle-man, so many rumours but no confirmations, marks appearing on houses and then going up in flames within a month.
- Hit-squad - Halflar, Vaughan, Nicholas, Ridley, and Oddfang. I'd have to dust of old notes to tell you more.
- Vaughan - We worked closely when we got to Sunwood, but he climbed the ladder of mercs, now runs the Silver Band and I, well you know me.
- Dance - Thought they could be trusted, maybe I was wrong. Haven't spoken in years, they spent a year in Sunwood before bouncing around the desert.
- Idris - Mercenary turned bodyguard, even through Aasimar were outlawed Idris managed to almost hide in plain sight, rarely seen these days but always seem to appear out of nowhere when the CEO of the Gold Alliance is in trouble
- Dazran - Served a devil named Dispater, none of us really got along with her, you know with the Nine Hells invading our country, and supposesdly pulling strings to start a war in the Feywild, only travelled together as it was safer in numbers, as soon as we reached Sunwood, disappeared.
- Dragon in Sunwood - rumours are growing, few and far between at first but seems to be picking up. Must be hiding if its young or if friendly has a disguise. I've been steering clear, don't want to poke a literal dragon there's enough shit happening in this city
- Shipment I - I would know more if it didn't burn down in the harbour, my gut tells me the Gold Alliance is playing middle-man
- Shipment II - I'm not missing this one, have to hit it before it reaches the city otherwise Gold Alliance will ensure it disappears
Mystery Shipment II
Latest news is that the ship was deemed unworthy and the goods on board were transported to the main land and are being sent by land, two large carts, they're already 4 weeks in, another week to reach Sunwood. Trying to track but keeping they're trying to hide as much as possible.

Shop contract
We tracked down a suspect who was in the shop from the day of the theft. We would like you to bring them back to the academy, then we can question them. He's a young gnome in Tulip Heights by the name of Bilryn. Bilryn will comply with any of the groups demands/requests. Reaching the academy they ask if Blackfyre would like to sit in on the questioning. Charisma Save 16 else can only tell the truth.
“Thank you for coming, spell should make this quick” You see in the corner of the room a Holy looking Knight who says a quick chant, everyone make a Charisma Save, the Knight nods and shop keep turns back to Bilryn.
“Did you steal the Dragon slaying bow and or the Cape of Montebank?” “No”
“Do you know who stole them or anyone involved?” “No”
“Well sorry for wasting your time Mr.Bilryn, seems our information was wrong, please accept a discount for the trouble.” He turns to the Knight who gives a series of nods and shankes, then to the group “Out of curiosity while you're here, do you know who stole the bow you were looking and or cape you had on order?”
