Stat: +0 ++ </WRAP> ===== Introduction ===== Vaylith has been a Drider for most of her life, 'Blessed' by Lolth while a teenager. She has spent over a century simi-isolated from her people. Being turned into a Drider is normally a sentence of isolation for any Drow. Though Vaylith sees to change that outlook. though she left the city walls she didn't go far her home being within the small settlements just outside the cities walls. the first years were rough but now she is a well known name among the Drow. A pharmacist who offers cures for many ailments that people in the Underdark commonly suffer from. On the surface, Vaylith is a stern serious woman. First impressions would tell you she never smiles and eats the homeless. But once her oddly warm smile meets your eyes and soothing alluring voice teases your ears you may find it hard to leave her presence. Her beauty rivals that of the Spider Queen. With five (5) deep red eyes, slender strong spider legs, the deep dark blue complexion of Drow unmarked by blemish or age. Larger than life assets and finely featured face with longer than normal pointed ears and short cut white hair.
Though the spider legs scare away cowards it means those who do show their heart are often more genuine than most. Her home often filled with letters confessing love she has no shortage of dating options. Vaylith is a self trained pharmacist. Originally taught by her mother for the first decade of her life she has expanded her knowledge through her mother's notes, Text books and experiments. Learning a wide variety of cures and poisons for almost every occasion found in the Underdark. her pharmacy, known as Dreg-Dew Pharmacy is well known around the city of Ridorana and has helped many Drow recover from otherwise fatal ailments. ===== History ===== === Origins === Vaylith was born to mother Davilok. A Drider turned Hag by the pursuit of forbidden arcane. Like many Drider, After Davilok was 'Blessed' by the Drow Goddess Lolth she became isolated from her people. Not willing to stay in such a position, Davilok began research into new things. This is where she would discover the Feywild and her decent into becoming a Hag.
Drider normally become infertile after 'Blessing' however with Davilok's forbidden magic study she regained her fertility and birthed a child, Who she named Vaylith Knell. Vaylith would stay and learn with her mother in the Feywild until her early teen years where she was sent back to her home land. the the Drow city of Ridorana in the Underdark. Davilok wanted her only daughter to experience that world and perhaps even embrace the old ways of Drow Culture.
As if the Spider Queen knew her impending arrival. Upon her arrival into the city, Lolth had Vaylith escorted before the Goddess's throne and asked a single question. “What will you do here?”
Vaylith Answered simply “I wish to learn”
“Then learn you shall” Loth returned. Bestowing her 'Blessing' upon Vaylith like many before, transforming her into a Drider. After that Vaylith left the city walls and found her Mother's old house, She has bee living there every since. === History === A Forgotten Culture Re-Taught
the culture of Drow has been twisted over the centuries. up until recently most Drow only knew the worst they were capable of. Slavers who raided the surface and were in constant civil war with one another. That all changed with Vaylith's teachings. Giving a voice to those Drow who were afraid to speak up before. She stated teaching the settlements outside the city wall of the old culture of Drow the celebrations had, the songs their people would sing and it quickly caught hold. People no matter their background long for calm and joy, when show that there was a time that was the normal, made them want it again. Its not been without pushback and friction, especially from Ridorana's sister cities but progress is grand considering the state of things.
