Stats
Introduction
There are fair few sapient species of the ocean. Triton, Merfolk, Kraken and many more. They are as varied as those above the waves but all share a deep connection with the water and what lies beneath.
Sozon is no expetion. a Merfolk (Triton) woman who stands out like a beacon on the shore but almost becomes mundane when swimming through the sea. Her strength and skills are mighty, complimented by her positive outlook on life and those around her.
Against the average land walking people, Sozon stands as tall if not more so than a Goliath. Almost eight feet (8ft) tall and her dense body weighing much more than could be assumed.
Compared to a many normal species Sozon looks monstrous, But amongst her own watery kind she blends in rather well. Merfolk alone come in a variety of forms, commonly more monstrous than not. With a head that resembles a shark body, Large whale-like tail and rather girthy frame she makes a memorable first impression. Think blue skin similar in texture to that of a dolphin or whale while the ends of her tail and head follow a gradient from blue to pink, the pink colour a hereditary gift from her mothers.
Little seems to bring her mood down. Sozon is a common sight in the taverns along the Docks, Late into the night celebrating whatever the occasion may be, and if there is nothing to celebrate than simply being alive is reason enough. This behaviours all but encouraged by her mothers who lead similar celebratory lifestyles. Overindulgences of the pleasures and wants of typical mortals, Drink, Food, Sex, Sozon spends many nights chasing all three and more. If anything her singing when drunk seems to put those around her in a merry mood.
Raised by her mothers, both being her biological parents stirs up alot of questions at the local tavern so she tends to make up the story of ‘never knowing her father’. Far easier topic that getting into the details of her birth.
It surprises many to learn that she has trained as a Monk for several years. Somone as carefree and irresponsible as her? its hard to believe. But hearing her story and motives it makes a bit more sence. The training was not for enlightenment or control but rather, Sozon was chasing power.
Though the teachings of humility and worldly views did little to temper her degenerate attitude it has allowed her to include herself in new circles of convocation without looking like an idiot.
Some ocean based species are able to walk on land with minimal need to be saturated. While others only last a few hours before needing to dive back into the nearest lake, puddle or bathtub. Sozon is in the later group. She never strays too far from the shore spending much of her life along the docks of cities and towns or going down large rivers to go further in-land. when staying alive means keeping track of the various lakes and rivers of the land you get pretty good at it. Easily able to navigate may areas using various bodies of water as landmarks. Though areas sparce of water remain a mystery to her.
She has some innate magic to save her in a pinch but crossing a desert or savannah? out of the question.
Thinking about your character's place
You are creating a character in a Pre-established world where major events have or will happen. There are guilds, nations, borders and all sorts of things that are established like any world. thinking about what guild or organization your character may be apart of. or where they live or did live.
There are many parts of the world map that have yet to be filled in. if you feel you have an idea for a brand new settlement, town etc for your character's backstory lwt your DM know and they will work with you to establish a foothold in this world that will be a part of the overarching lore.
History
Here you can stick that reaallly long Backstory you have. If your introduction has hooked then they will continue reading here. However for any Dungeon master you may be trying to convince to let you play your super amazing character. everything they need to know should be put in the introduction.
This is also a good place to post updates to campaigns your character may have played in. If you are like me you may want to take the same character through multiple campaigns and having a log of their adventures can go a long way to making them feel special.
