Aarakocra: The Aarakocra are a feathered race of birdfolk, not to be mistaken for Kenku this proud species are fully capable of flight after their first molt. there are many variants and subspecies of Aarakocra, some named others not, Owlfolk are one example.
They are an uncommon sight in most parts of the world, often taking up trades that seem them travel. bards, Delivery birds. explorers, mercenaries anything soaked in excitement and adventure. its well known that an Aarakocra's time is short and so they make the most of everyday But this also leads to them seeking ways to extend their life or even develop anxiety over it. Stress is the biggest killer for most Aarakocra and they are taught very early and strictly to manage stress.

Physical Appearance

  • Ability Score:
    Increase one ability score by 2, and increase a different one by 1.
  • Lifespan:
    Owlfolk reach matturity very early at ages 3-4. They can live for an average of 60 years but known to reach thier 80th year when fortune favors them.
  • Alignment:
    Most owlfolk tend to be lawful in thier life. Order and control in thier lifes is favorable to chaos.
  • Size:
    You are Medium or Small. You choose the size when you gain this race.
  • Speed:
    Your walking speed is 30 feet. and a flying speed of 30 feet so long as your not wearing heavy armour.
  • Languages:
    You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language that you and your DM agree is appropriate for the character
  • Darkvision
    You can see in dim light within 90 feet of you as if it were bright light and in darkness as if it were dim light.
  • Magic Sight Your keen senses can focus to see the presence of magic. You gain the ability to cast the Detect Magic spell, but only as a ritual. Your spellcasting ability for this spell is your choice of Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma. You can also cast this spell normally with any spell slots you have.
  • Nimble Flight Thanks to your wings, you have a flying speed equal to your walking speed. When you fall, you can use your reaction to make a Dexterity saving throw (DC 10) to stop falling and fly in place until the start of your next turn.
  • Wise Feathers You have advantage on wisdom based skill checks.
