Ever-burning Flame (Evocation)

• This item constantly sheds Bright Light in 20ft and Dim Light in 40ft radius from the item. This light counters the effects of magical darkness of 1st level or lower.

This otherwise normal torch has a Continual Flame spell cast on it. This causes it to shed light like an ordinary torch, but it does not emit heat or deal fire Damage if used as a weapon.

The Torch looks normal despite its magical nature, It has some small magical runes written near the top of the torch. The torch is always 'alight' and cannot be turned off. However the light can be covered similar to a hooded lantern, as the magical flame does not spread simply putting cloth or other material over the flame will cover its light, but not smother the flame.

Researches are not sure how this item came to be, often the most simple of items have the strangest mechanics. however the theory going around is that the torch instead of burning wood is burning life force, very very subtlety. Yet despite its unknown origins it has been reversed engineered to be craftable by tose willing to brave the dangers of finding its key component.
