The Shield appears as a ethereal apparition of a shield yet still feels solid. It is almost weightless when picked up.
The shield being transparent cannot stop light or similar but does displace it slightly.

Veil
The shield is weightless and ethereal to the attuned wielder. the wielder easily able to use a two handed weapon or ranged weapons that require and offhand for ammo, or two separate weapons.
When ever a creature comes to attack, the shield acts and behaves like any other well crafted shield, a solid wall protecting you.

Its unclear how such an item came into creation. perhaps it is simply the spirit of a shield destroyed before its time. or something crafted with the remains of an unholy creature.
