Master Theren’s SunSoul crystal
Wonderous Item, Artifact, Legendary, Attunment required
A teardrop shapped clear crystal filled with swirling radiant energy that was created by Master Theren and serves as his Mark of Mastery of the Way of the Sun Soul. When looking directly into the crystal while attuned to it, on a DC 25 Investigation check you can briefly glimpse a small black sphere in the centre of the crystal. The glimpse is so brief that one might believe it to be a trick of the eye.
This crystal was formed by Theren when he focused unknown magics into his existing Sun Soul Crystal, turning it into the key for the Vault of the Sun's Grace. This crystal's properties have been warped by the unknown magics and as such differs from a normal Sun Soul Crystal.
Destroyed by:
The crystal can be destroyed by simply using it for its intended purpose. If used to open the vault it keeps locked the crystal will shatter.
- Fading Brilliance - As an action, this crystal can emit bright light for 10 feet and dim light for a further 10 feet. This effect lasts until for 1 hour or another action is used to stop the light.
- Spiritual Guidance - When you make an ability check that does not use your Wisdom modifier, you can expend two Hit Dice and add your Wisdom Modifier to the result. This can be done after the roll but before the outcome is determined.
- Setting Strike - When you take the attack action and hit with an unarmed strike OR simple weapon you can add 1D4 to the damage roll of the attack
Artifact The Item has undergone some changes during the time after Master Theren's death.
*While attuned Increase AC by 1
*While Attuned to this item you have resistance to force damage
*When you attune to it for the first time you gain proficiency in the athletics skill permanently
*This item has tiny wings.
When told the word of powef The item will try to escape its holder and return to its attuned creature.
If the item has not herd the word of power from its attuned creature it will attempt to fly away every 6 hours until told.
*When descending the item can hold xxxpounds of weight.
*when attuning to this item for the first time you take 4d10 Psy damage.
*When Attuned to this item you suffer 1d100 long term madness. If the power word is not spoken this madness will change every 24 hours.
If two days have passed without the power word being spoken this will turn into 1-d100 permanent madness and no longer fluctuate.
