Introduction
The Ancient Copper Dragon known as Brigznier, Has called the Underdark his domain for many centuries. His shear size and strength have allowed him to prowl the Underdark un-challenged for nearly an Era. Even if something were to meet Brigznier's strength they would surely faulter. As the Greedy Copper Dragon provides many creatures in the Underdark a priceless resource. His vile fiery power that many Underdark dwellers need to survive and thrive. With such a part to play in the very economy of an entire realm Brigznier is unlikely to be interfered with for many centuries to come.
Copper Dragons are often known for their love of stories, riddles and jokes. A good hearty laugh is often enough to convince a Copper Dragon to share his treasure wit you. Perhaps Brigznier being a Copper Dragon is in itself a joke. Though he may have started life as one of the Metallic Dragon kin, Through a lifetime of selfish behaviour, being a Greedy Tyrant and indulging in ravenous Gluttony have darkened his scales considerably resembling more black with a shade of vile green corruption along his underbelly. And what and underbelly it is.
The Ancient Copper Dragon is a truly horrific yet magnificent being. An extremally obese dragon who's metallic copper scales have darkened to a metallic ash black. Those perceptive enough will notice the sheen of Brigznier's scales, Betraying his heritage on the metallic side of the Dragon Kin.
Greedy even by Dragon standards, Brigznier has done little aside from gorge himself into long slumbers, Waking again to gorge further. Only interacting with the Underdark when his food supplies are low or his hoard collection becomes stale.
His weight has overwhelmed his body, Unable to fly and struggles to walk. Despite this his presence is no less intimidating. Being far more gargantuan then any other Dragon of his age.
Even without the excess weight, Brigznier would be close to twice the size of a Ancient gold Dragon. Its unknown what exactly promoted this excessive growth. it could be a side effect of his gluttony or perhaps an effect of the Underdark.
His overall greater size isn't the only strange thing. Brigznier also sports an extra set of fat swathed legs, Giving him six in all. Its unknown if this was by choice or a mutations effect of some outside force but it dose make waddling his unholy girth around a bit easier.
True to his heritage as a Copper Dragon, Brigznier is extremally fond of good stories and better jokes, Though far more critical. A Bard singing a bland song will find themselves; If lucky enough, roasted where they stand. But many are not so lucky, Ending their story as little more than a snack as the gluttons Brigznier devourers them alive like desert at the end of a bad show.
The stories told to the gluttonses Dragon he will often steal and claim as his own. Fairly self-Absorbed; and not just by his rolls of puggy flesh. Those around him, Especially mortals he sees as sources of entertainment or food. Being very hard to convince him otherwise.
Even other dragons that have come to claim his territory or treasure he has simple defeated and devoured. Some of his Dragon kin even devoured alive. A show of horrifying dominance.
Despite his superiority complex Brigznier has become more and more reasonable as years of communication with other species went on. It was all kicked off when He was saved by an unlikely friend. Someone who would make good long lasting companionship from that moment on. One of the last Stone Giants in Mor-Thir named Gavlain
The story is rather humorous and Gavlin Tells it many times to others he meets. This event somewhat humbled Brigznier, And though it has not changed him very much he is now at least open to more communication.
Those that have tried to fell the obese beast have met their end, Crushed under his immense weight or simply devoured by the Dragon.
The Dragon spends his time in the lower levels of the Underdark. Slumbering within his massive hoard of treasure.
Brigznier is quite the chatter and is eager to swap stories with strangers. He will often even trade treasure for a good story.
The Magic items in his hoard all have curses of them due to their proximity to the dragon.
Brigznier is quite the active love maker, Especially before his gained weight ruined his figure. Its possible there are few children of his heritage that he doesn't know about.
Despite spending his whole life in the Underdark his eyesight and flesh still cope with the sunlight normally due to his lair being nearby sources of lava.
History & Origins
Origins
Brigznier wasn’t always a tyrant of the Underdark.
During the Age of Expansion Brigznier like many other young dragons were caught in the war against mortals known as Dragon Crisis though even then he was rather laid back. The war did not concern him as “there is no way us powerful dragons could loose to a bunch of flesh bags”
How surprised he was when he learned the Dragons had in-fact, Lost the war. Brigznier like many other dragons would have to find home somewhere else.
Brigznier didn’t go far, Out of stuborness, Laziness or a combination of both he found a new home along the borders of Covania. Carving out a cave for himself high up in the mountains of Ashlem Rise. Setting up is very sparce lair to laze about his years as if nothing had changed. He had no care for the mortals and no grudge against their war, The Copper Dragon was simply looking for sound sleep.
Several hundred years past until he was rusly awoken by the ringing of hammers against anvil.

And one particular soul was awoken from its long slumber. Brigznier, The Copper Dragon who was once considered a citizen of Nabilime and one of its leading architects on arcane weaponry had fallen victim to a failed ritual on the very day Nabilhime was destroyed by The Watching Eyes. His Soul remained trapped within the confines of the ruins until this event.
His Soul along with a number of bodies were dragged into the Nine Hells when the portals opened and his soul latched onto a suitable body. a rare Sub-species of Dragoborn known as a Dragon Knight. Awakening after a slumber of several centuries not knowing much about what has bee going on recently. He remembers his heritage and his past and that the Nine ells is not the desired place to be.
He hopes to escape the Hells, Learn about what has happened in the last few thousand years and get back to a life of lax and self-indulgence
History
A Distaste for the Nine-Hells
Long ago Brigznier had a run in with wit the Nine Hells, getting trapped their during an invasion. As this was right after his Lichdom attempted partially failed he was stuck with little power and little memory.
Making the journey through the lowest circle of hell e encountered many tribulations. But of te things he learned was his overall distaste for the Nine-Hells as a whole. Especially fiery and earthy elementals. He still remembers the time where he was knocked onto the edge of a true death by one such calling itself “The Master”. Ever since that day he has ad a sub-conscious unease around such elementals of fire and stone.
Place Among the Underdark
Being a Ancient Dragon as powerful as Brigznier comes with a few quirks. One being his very presence warps the landscape around him. Ore veins of precious metals such as Cobalt and rich Iron, and obviously copper grow in the dark stone for miles around is lair. The Druegar discovered this phenomenon early into Brigznier's occupancy and after many failed attempts and devoured Druagar came to a deal.
Aside from precious and sturdy metals, Topaz and Emeralds grew in plenty In Brigznier's presence even the very air became ore toxic. Though for Drugar the poisons mattered little if at all. But most importantly was Brigznier's Fire.
With his gravity magic he is ale to condense his flame into a crystal like resource that crackles with hot acidic fire energy. Drugar use this resource for all manner of things, Fuelling their forges, warming their homes, keeping dangers at bay. It was the start of a new Era for the Druegar.
The Deal was that Brigznier would situate his lair within range of the Druegar's city and mines as well as trade is condensed vile flame with the Drugar, In exchange the Druagar would offer, massive amounts of food, Protection from outside forces and of course copious amounts of treasure, Gemstones, gold and other such treasure was of little use to the Drugar in the amounts they procured it.
Almost weekly the Duergar trade their mined wealth for the Dragon's condensed flame. And so the Drugar have thrived. Brigznier becoming a core part of the ecosystem not only for the Drugar but for a majority of the Underdark.
Becoming a Smith
In recent years Brigznier has come into contact with a Stone giant by the name of Gavlain. Though Giant's and Dragons are known to be mortal enemies for many millennia the two seemed less than eager to start a grudge match. instead they swapped stories for well over a few weeks.
Gavlain taught Brigznier how to smith. Giant's Craft. Unique brand of smiting of folding lightning like hot metal Normally a closely guarded secret of the Storm Giants.
Harnessing the raw power of unique ore found in the Underdark, Brigznier is now able to forge weapons made of pure green lightning.
Dealing with Illithids
The presence of Illithids is common in the Underdark, Despite their history of defeat after defeat they are simply to strong and to smart to die off completely and with there recent discoveries they are sure to thrive for many ages to come.
When Brigznier moved into the Underdark he was met with quite hostile interactions from a pod of Ilithids nearby. The Ancient Dragon’s very presence altered the landscape and so too the delicate system the Elder Brain had cultivated.
They responded with a well organized attack to kill or drive off the Ancient copper Dragon but none were prepared for his power.
No normal Ancient Dragon, Brigznier had access to powerful magics much like a mortal Wizard. And his studies specialised in gravity. The Ilithid body is physically weaker then you would expect and so under the pressure of the unwavering, Uncaring force of gravity The Elder Brain’s Ilithids crumpled like paper. The Initial attack resulting in overwhelming loss of Ilithids numbers. It was also in this battle Brigznier discovered his hatred for the taste of Illithid.
For hundreads of years after this battle Brigznier had no further interaction with any Ilithids or its kin aside from the odd attack on the Druegar city that Brigznier guarded but once they learned of that particular cities protection Ilithid attcks ceased all together. Going to find more easy targets in other parts of the Underdark
But within the last few years there has been some attempt at communication but a new pod of Ilithids. Simple talks and chats by one or two Ilithid coming to ask humble questions perhaps to understand better or test the Dragon’s sociability. The convocations do not last long as the Ilithids lack entertainment with no stories, songs or riddles to share the Great Obese Dragon Brigznier grows agitated quickly. The Ilithids leaving shortly after. But communication is on going.
Background: Cult Involvement
Brigznier has had a very mixed relationship with some cults around Felwind One cult he managed to inspire the creation of through a simple but taboo act indulging in one man's desire for a new world order.
Wile another cult was the ones responsible for the destruction of a previous life and resulting is a major amount of time stuck in a limbo slumber.
Presently his involvement with the Draco Slavers cult remains somewhat distant. Though they act in the name of Brigznier they have little communication with the Dragon themselves.
The Watching Eyes Brigznier has had no contact with since tat faithful day and the destruction of Nabilhime He has not sought out revenge mostly due to laziness. But he doesn't not tolerate them and if members of that cult were to ever have a run in with Brigzier directly there would be no remorse or empathy sown by the girthy copper Dragon.
