- Hazel has innovated into riches with a nut alcohol (Pecan Colada) and urges Mac to follow her path.
- Coco lives on a beach without a care in the world.
- Miss Stachio, Mac's tutor, encouraged him to travel the world and find himself. She died of a nut allergy in Mac's early teens.
