History
Pre-Campaign
Burldries hatched around 12200 before and during the Ashlem War in 12264 he was a typical black dragon and a young one at that, terrorising and establishing control within the Mulburg Marsh of Reton, often taking the form of a merciless black dragonborn mercenary and at times bandit when working couldn't grow his hoard. This changed after the war when dragonborn were outlawed across the Mor-Thir, he saw many he worked with get slaughtered and remaining arrested. He took his natural form, giving any that could a chance to flee, gravely wounded he fled into the marsh.
The following years he formed the Knights of Palus, a group dedicated to saving and freeing any and all outlawed. All members of this group knew of his true nature, having lost his estate and hoard Burldries' new “hoard” is not of material but of people, recruiting those he sees worthy. They struggled with minimal resources but they stood firm. Although he is not a huge fan of the title many started calling him the Saviour of Dragons, Destroyer of Man.
Rise of Narkul
During 12330, five years before the return of Narkul, Burldries made a deal with Dyndryd, details which remain only known by the two. He returned to the Knights of Palus, renaming their group to the Order of the Lost Keep.
In 12335 a group of adventures known as the Fellowship of the Alicorn who included Alucard who recently picked up a contract to hunt a black dragon, meeting with Burldries Alucard and Drusilia attack him, he retaliates harming both but allows them to live under the condition they kill Dyndryd. Burldries later received word they had fled after an encounter with Dyndryd and begins trying to use the mercy he gave the two as leverage for favours but neither return.
Later in the year the outlawing of races is lifted except for tieflings, with this the order's focus shifts to the search of a lost Keep within the Mulburg Marsh, while still providing aid to ex-outlawed and refuge for remaining tieflings.
Ascension of Narkul
By 12337 Burldries is able to hire multiple adventuring groups, the remains of the original order focused on the search for the Keep but the hires are focused on the search for Drusilia, Alucard, and the Hand of Narkul.
