Elisia's Life After Brovaria

Elisia's Homepage | Back to Stories

1st Saturday, Raindown, 12341

After months trapped in the twisted lands of Brovaria, Elisia was finally home though not the same as she left. Both the archipelago and herself entirely different.

The shores and the sun still the same but it was obvious that a large amount of time had passed, Perhaps several decades? it was hard to say exactly. Promise had become much more colonized by other species and her own home had long been reclaimed by nature. She still had her Library although it would take a day or two to prepare the spells to create a new entrance.

There was much to do and much to deal with. So much had changed in such little time and Elisia was not prepared.

Traveling back to Oxtrad was out of the question, Her new form would no doubt put her on every hunter's mark list so she would have to create a new magical entrance somewhere here in Promise. But that needs a few days preparation and a lady of her nature needed a place to settle now.
“This is not the homecoming I had hopped for.”
It was afternoon now and Elisia would have to act quick if she were to find some shelter before nightfall.

Keeping to the trees in an effort to conceal herself from would be prying eyes. Aside from various wildlife Elisia didn't run into any creature before finding a sea cave, a cliff eroded by years of sea waves creating quite spacious area, plenty of room for her now huge size.
However as she approached the distinct sound of chatter reached her ears followed by the spell of burning wood and cooking flesh. Instinctively she shuffled to the side trying to conceler herself. Thinking she was fine but in reality still openly exposed.
Peaking around the corner with her long neck she spied a small makeshift camp of Goblins, All around a fire cooking what seemed to be their latest hunt.
From what she could gather from their convocation they were talking about another group of goblins they ran into.

What to do. The sun was approaching the horizon quickly and it had taken hours to find this spot. She wasn't going to let some simple goblins ruin her chances for a decent night and she was more powerful than ever before. Hyping herself up she turned the corner and fired off a few eldritch blasts…all missing.
The Goblins startled but quickly collected themselves and readied to kill whatever had interrupted their dinner right up until they got a good look at the snake spider monster before them.
Two lost their nerve right away and ran in fear, Causing a third to loose morality and flee also. The last two held their ground, Throwing a rock and then taking a swipe with an axe. Both attacks harmlessly bounced off Elisia's tough scales surprising both herself and the goblins. \\Thinking to herself “I am a lot stronger than I thought.”
She puffed her chest out and spoke as authorities as she could. “Take your kill and leave now! this is my domain from now on and I will not have it sullied by vermin. Or else you will meet your end as my dinner!.”
She didn't do a very good job, her voice breaking a few times during the sepal. the Goblins began another attack. Elisia sighed as she snapped and gulped one of the goblins in a single bite. Swallowing her victim like a hydra.
She locked eyes with the last goblin, her snake tung flicking out as the muffled screams of the devoured goblin were heard. The remaining goblin now terrified ran off saying something like “Don't eat me ahhhhhh.”

Elisa signed feeling the struggle of her meal, Banging on her stomach. “Shh pipedown, I warned you.”
The unexpected snack made her realise just how hungry she was. Grapping the hunted game the Goblins had cooking and downing it like popcorn. it was a deer or something but for the Serpent lady it might as well have been cubed meat on a stick.
Digging through her bag that she had realised was a lot much smaller that it once was finding the last of her rations, vanishing down her throat.
“This is going to be a problem..”
Pushing her hunger out of her mind she got to work, Getting the spell details ready. Working hours into the night. After the fire died she used Dancing lights to keep the cave lit. It was well into the early hours of the morning before Elisa finally gave in to rest. She has no need for sleep however she couldn't keep pace like this all night. using magic to create a makeshift bed. Similar to a nest and began reading the few books she had kept. realising they too were too small to hold properly.
After a few minuets struggling she decided to use Mage hand then squint really well.

It wasn't the grandest welcome home, Actually it was rather miserable but Elisia knew she just had to tough it out and would be back in comfort by tomorrow night.

Hunger prevented Elisia from resting easy, Even when the morning light began to illuminate the arcapligo Elisa stayed in the cave trying to rest a bit longer. There was strong overcast and fog this morning, Soaking the islands in a thick layer of mystery. It was now Elisia noticed despite the heavy fog she could see clearly some distance out. How can that be? had her transformation effected more of her than she realised?
After a moment of testing and memory diving she realised it was an affinity known as Truesight. Quite pleased with this revelation gave her the motivation to begin the day.

It was only a few steps out of the cave when hunger hit her hard. Her stomach growling loudly as she audibly moaned in discomfort. This was now top priority but where was she going to find a worthy meal?
Remembering her searching yesterday she had spied what seemed to be farm land as well as a well traveled road but could she really steal? another painful stomach growl convinced her she could.

Her keen mind kept her sense of direction in tact. Promise was no stranger to heavy fog such as this and it provided ample opportunity for her to keep well hidden even out in the open. What was she going to get? she couldn't just ask the farmer for food she may clean them out. the answer was obvious but she didn't want to admit it. Perhaps a few cows or pigs swallowed whole like that unfortunate Goblin from yesterday.
It was a more primal form of eating. Most Naga eat like that similar to snakes however Elisia had prided herself being farm more dignified.

Yet she was desperate.
coming up she saw the wooden fence come into view and herd the commotion of farm animals and soon enough her desired meal. Not your normal cows these were fully fledged bison. Far larger and sturdier. perfect for raising in the harsher environment of Promise. Her hesitation was quickly warded off by a louder stomach growl, Clenching at the pain.
Finding one that was more alone than the rest she kept outside the fence. Luring the bison over with some magic suggestion was easy enough, Now the hard part.
She couldn't just kill it. She was no hunter and didn't know how to do it without causing noise or just flat out ruining the meal and this was far larger than a Goblin could she even swallow this thig whole? she leaned in a few times trying different positions but chickening out each time. The bison didn't even flinch, eating grass under a magical trace. Eventually she forced herself, unhinging her jaw and chomping down on the bison. using her form arms the lift it up letting gravity help as she forced the creature down her throat. she thought she was going to chock or get stuck but it never came, feeling the huge furry thing expand her neck to fit. It took a few moments but eventually the bison completely disappeared down Elisia's maw and plunged down into her stomach.

There was a rush of adrenaline, breathing heavily realising she had held her breath through that entire ordeal. she checker herself making sure she hadn't torn anything. flicking her tung out in a bit of shock. slowly everything calmed down around her and her mind settled. feeling quite a tad heavier than early inspecting the bulge where the bison now lived. the trace of it broken as it struggled inside her panicked but it could do nothing to escape its fate now.
“What a rush” She said to herself “ I can't belive I did that. That was not lady like at all but ohhh it makes me feel powerful…I hope nobody saw that dreadful display.” She looked around to make sure no one had snuck up.

Greed and hunger still apparent in her mind as she began to lure in a second bison. This one went down much easier but now the bloated weight was far more apparent feeling like she had just finished a family dinner all to herself.

With that she began the treck back. Walking with two fully grown bison in your stomach is hard for anyone but eventually she made it back to the cave only to find some Goblins had returned.
Groaning in annoyance she readied some spells. “You pests! begone! this is my home now!”
Upon approach Elisa realised they were not cowering or ready to fight. Instead they seemed to be praying? Bowing down before Elisia about twenty goblins. She stopped in bewilderment, Not sure what to think of the situation
