Orphell

Oblex are a very rare creature in Felwind. Created from experiments there are no known naturally born Oblex.
Orphell was is a newly created Oblex less than a few decades old. The result of an Ilithid's experiments within the underground of Ostrov. Once a simple blue Ooze with nothing but instinct guiding it. Now a super intelligent being with thoughts, feelings and an identity of her own. Orphell is out to prove that monsters can be heroes too, and some deserve to be treated as friends rather than foes.

Though she is able to learn almost everything that her victims know, One thing Orphell is unable to learn is social norms, Leaving her with a naïve look upon the world, The ways of mortal life are new to her, etiquette and speech lingo are all things she is still learning, Unable to steal this knowledge from others> Sarcasm or metaphors being completely alien to the Oblex.
Its unknown why she is unable to pick up on these quirks of socializing. There are hardly any records or information of the Oblex so no one is sure how this phenomenon works.

Being an intelligent monster Orphell is not officially recognized as a citizen of any nation. Without any documentation it makes it very hard to live in a nation so governed by title and documentation.
Resorting to stealing another's identity in order to cross any official checkpoint.

Her nature as an Oblex leads to her basic need to survive being a detriment to most intelligent life around her. Feeding off memories rather than normal food makes trips to the Market very awkward.
She makes an effort to target those, She believes are more deserving of having their brains purged of higher function. top of her list is bandits and other intelligent monsters that don't share her views of “Fitting in”
Down the list is hobos, Unpleasant people, hermits, weird cult members, But she has once or twice taken an entire family just for fun or greed.
Taking the memories of a mortal is a relatively strait forward process but Orphell goes a step further and normally tries to devour the entire body so she may get the victims physical look in her 'Wardrobe“ so to speak.

Mortals often kill others for the sole purpose of food, Yet when a monster such as Orphell has to devour the mortals for her sustained life its seen as bad. Morality is questionable from those on the outside but Lions are not seen as evil for hunting why should an Oblex such as herself? This idea has been stirring within Orphell for a number of years now and is causing her to be less tolerant of others.

Being an Oblex, Orphell has highly advanced Psionic abilities similar to other psionic creatures. Able to study a long lost and forbidden power known as a Mystic. The power of a Mystic is unlike any Arcane school. Relying on a different fuel to power strong psychic abilities. Its nature means common Arcane has little to no effect against directly countering it.

The modular essence of an Ooze body means the forms it takes can vary widely. The common form Orphell takes of a humanoid female is by personal preference. Though the form has the eyes, mouth and nose like a standard humanoid none of these body parts are functioning.
Orphell is functionally blind, instead using her psionic power and natural blind-sense to see the colorless world around her.
Her small bubble in the universe, Lacking so much of what makes the world beautiful. Yet despite not being able to see most of it Orphell still wishes to fight for a better world.
Maybe one day she will gain enough power to overcome her natural near slightness.

Relationship with Jack
For a few years Orphell was in some semblance of a relationship with the owner of The Dog's Bowl. Though it was far from healthy. Orphell revealing in Jack's depression often taking on the appearance of his dead wife. A sickly calm dark secret.
Though Orphell never meant malice, she was only doing what Jack desired and could not see past the raw erotic sensations that came about.

Eventually Jack turned his life around, Closing the tavern and leaving on a journey of healing. Leaving Orphell behind. She holds no ill feelings towards Jack for this as her side of the relationship was only ever in it for safety and pleasure.

Like many creatures before, Orphell has been captured by a pod of Ilithids and experimented on. a humble ooze once but now a functioning Oblex.

Orphell has been living in Uthasil for many years under the watch of Blacklist. This criminal organization found the young Oblex when she took the life; and in proxy the identity, Of one of their low ranking members. Orphell remained undetected for a few months but eventually caught when she had killed and devoured another member, being caught in the act.

Hunger
Yea I get hungry like most other things. While most humans go about hunting a deer or butchering a cow for their dinner I have to Hunt the hunter or devour the butcher and that is frowned upon in common mortal life.
So I have to be secretive about my food or eat people that won't be missed.

My life is often spent being in the shoes of someone else's life. Taking the place of a family member or a dear friend leads to an experiencing few months.
